Grief counseling

On June 14, 2011 two girls crossing MLK at Pratt were the victims of a hit and run.  You can read the Sun's article at this link.  My stomach turned, knotting up, and my mind went to pure anger when I read that.  Contrary to what the police think in the article, MLK is such a dangerous stretch that everyone has a story.  A 311 request was put in last month to bring attention to the issueBut this is the story we all hoped would never come true.  I can't imagine what the family and friends have been going through.  I know it's cliche to say that, but there are no better words.  I hate to think that their death is what it takes to see change.  But I also hope that it's the last straw, and someone else is spared.  If you have been struggling with their loss, please attend this counseling session.

People’s Community Health Center is holding a one time support group to address issues of grief related to the teenagers Courtney Angeles and Emerald Smith who were killed by a hit and run driver last week on Martin Luther King Blvd.

The group will be held next Tuesday 6/28/11 at Open Gates Clinic 1111 Washington Blvd From 5:30pm-7:00pm.
All are welcome
If you have any questions please call 410-467-6040 ext. 2700
