Pigtown For Sale

A good friend and neighbor put together this video, volunteering his slide show & musical talents.  Living anywhere has it's trials and tribulations, but those of us who call Pigtown home love it and are trying to get more people to invest in the neighborhood.   Pigtown continues to attract fun, lively, diverse people to the area.  No matter your culture or background, you are not alone, and you are welcome in Pigtown.  Want to know more about living or buying in Washington Village/ Pigtown?  Watch below.

The song is called "Washington Village".  Who knew we had our own song?  Check it out:

Food For Thought - Pigtown's Food Advocacy Group

There is an upcoming food advocacy event in Pigtown.  You can be a part of this movement!
Please join on Sat, February 11th 2012 12-3pm @ the corner of Carroll & Ostend Streets
This event, and regular meetings have been added to the Pigtown Happens community calendar.

You've got to love all of the hard work that volunteers do in our area.  This is a great thing for people of all ages to support!  "Work is love made visible." ~Kahlil Gibran (artist & poet)

It's no secret that Pigtown is in a food desert.  This term means that there is no immediate access to affordable, healthy foods within a reasonable travel distance.  In fact, The Afro covered this issue in their article "Washington Village/Pigtown Struggles to Provide Healthy Food Options" back in December of 2010.
